I was looking for Trac integration for NetBeans and I just found a project at SourceForge.net: Trac NetBeans Plugin. A little plugin that adds a search toolbar for trac.

I have just received a review copy of the new book NetBeans Platform 6 by Heiko Böck. It’s a guide for developing Rich Client Platform applications based on the NetBeans Platform. Actually I had already bought a copy since I had already read some preview chapters and I couldn’t wait. It’s great, but unfortunately only available in german.
I always liked the books from Galileo Press, because they often contain more than you expect. This one about software law for example contains a checklist for how to write good software documentation .
What’s so good about the platform book is, that it not only gives you a very structured introduction to the concepts and the architecture of the APIs, but also covers and explains the details. There are good schematic graphics to illustrate the concepts and you also get code samples. I think you could say this book is the most complete resource on the NetBeans platform to date.

It looks like they’ve got a version for NB 5 only, probably due to the changed editor infrastructure. I couldn’t install it in my NB 6.0 so far. I’ll try to find out more on their plans to support NB 6.

drinking my morning coffee I just found that a new version of Citra FX Photo Filter 2.1 has been released with new filters and an enhanced user interface. Kiyut, the company behind Citra FX is also producing the Sketsa SVG editor and both applications are based on the NetBeans platform.
